# Export Asset Data

You can export AssetIQ asset data when you need to review permitted records outside the application or prepare an approved report.

AssetIQ supports the verified CSV and PDF export options. JSON export is not currently available.

## Before you export

Make sure that:

- You have permission to view and export asset data.
- The asset list contains the required records.
- Any necessary search terms or filters have been applied.
- You understand how the exported information will be stored and shared.

> **Important:** Exported asset data may contain confidential organisational information. Store and share the file according to your organisation’s data-handling requirements.

## Prepare the asset list

1. Sign in to AssetIQ.
2. Open **Asset Management**.
3. Open the asset list.
4. Search for the required records.
5. Apply the relevant filters.
6. Review the displayed results before exporting.

## Export asset data as CSV

1. Locate the available export action.
2. Select the CSV export option.
3. Wait for the file to be generated.
4. Download the file.
5. Open it in an approved spreadsheet application.
6. Confirm that the expected records and fields are present.

CSV is suitable when you need to sort, filter or analyse the exported information.

## Export asset data as PDF

1. Prepare the required asset list.
2. Open the export options.
3. Select the PDF export option.
4. Wait for the report to be generated.
5. Download and open the PDF.
6. Confirm that the information is readable and complete.

PDF is suitable for review, distribution or record-keeping when editing is not required.

## Verify the export

After downloading the file:

- Compare the exported record count with the AssetIQ list.
- Confirm that the applied scope and filters are reflected.
- Check representative asset identifiers.
- Confirm that no unauthorised records are included.
- Store the file in an approved location.

## The export does not start

If the download does not begin:

- Check whether your browser is blocking downloads.
- Confirm that the list contains records.
- Reduce the number of filters and try again.
- Refresh the page.
- Try the organisation’s supported browser.
- Record any displayed error message.

## The exported data is incomplete

If expected records are missing:

1. Return to the asset list.
2. Clear and reapply the filters.
3. Confirm that the records are visible before exporting.
4. Check your entity, location and department access.
5. Run the export again.
